Learning, Sharing & Social

Discipleship Groups

Discipleship Groups offer the opportunity for Bible Study and Prayer as well as friendship and support. The groups meet in people's homes during the week to study the Bible and pray together. These are open to all, and meet at a variety of times and places.

The Boathouse Cafe

Join us for bacon butties, coffee, breakfast or a scone and a chat on Wednesday mornings in the church hall. All welcome.

Prayer Chain

Prayer is an important part of the churches life and sometimes we need special prayer for those in need. The prayer chain passes on prayer requests to those in our church who are willing to pray for others.

Pastoral Visitors

We have a team of pastoral visitors who care for those in need. They have particular responsibility for visiting the sick and housebound and for sharing Holy Communion with those unable to attend church.

Ladies Guild

This fellowship has a mix of social activities i.e. fashion show, quiz, entertainment, trips out and a Christmas meal. We also have worship evenings twice a year with a communion service. The evenings finish around 9pm, when the tea and chatter begins. The group all love being part of this fellowship. This group normally meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month, starting at 7pm.

Ladies Wot Lunch

"Ladies Wot lunch" meets fortnightly on Tuesdays. It begins with a light lunch and then spends some time looking at the Christian faith.

MenMeet

For the men of St Andrew's this group is for all men, however remotely connected with the Church, as well as friends who just fancy a chat and a drink. We also welcome men from other churches to join us.

The meeting arrangements couldn't be simpler, usually the first Monday of each month but sometimes we meet for a breakfast and talk on a Saturday morning. The venue and activities vary. Other possibilities include snooker, breakfasts, camping and the like. We welcome all men.
