Here's some information about what is happening during Holy Week and Easter at St. Andrew's
April 14th - Palm Sunday
10:00am. Joint Service with Haughton Methodist Church, at St.Andrew's
There will be a procession from the Methodist Church to St.Andrew's, with palms and songs, starting at 10:00am,
or if you prefer go straight to St. Andrew's for 10:15.
April 18th - Maundy Thursday
6:00pm. Apapé Meal including Communion in the Church Hall
In this informal event we share a simple meal on the Thursday evening, the eve of Good Friday, as did Jesus with his disciples.
It will include an address and informal Holy Communion. No charge, but donations on the evening welcomed.
April 19th - Good Friday
10:00am. All Age Good Friday Service
On this, the most solemn day of the year for Christians, we offer a simple, child-friendly, service to remember the loving sacrifice of Jesus.
2:00pm. Easter Vigil
Lasting about 75 minutes, and spanning over 3:00pm, the traditional hour at which Jesus died, we use music and readings to remind ourselves of His love for us.
April 21st - Sunday, Easter Day
Hallelujah! Christ is Risen!
5:00am. Sunrise Easter Communion
A Communion service at dawn on Easter Day. We enter the church in darkness and emerge at the end of the service into the new light of day. Reminiscent of the disciples who hurried to the tomb the first Easter to find the stone rolled aside, and Christ risen from the dead.
Followed by a cooked breakfast in the church hall. Altogether an unmissable experience.
8:00am. Easter Communion (said)
A simple Communion service without music for those who have to hurry to other events on the day.
10:00am. Easter Day All Age Communion
A full Easter service for all the family to celebrate the wonder and meaning of Christ's Resurrection.
